Looked at a lot of options, and this was the best size for the price we could find. Putting it together is no small feat, the instructions are clear but you have to read them carefully. MUCH easier as a two person job, this would be very hard to do with one person and probably take most of the day. Knocked it out with a helper in maybe 2 hours.
I threw out the anchors and put in some tapcon screws (just one in each leg) to anchor it to the patio concrete. We had to leave town for a week and leave it on it's own and there was a massive desert monsoon when we got back. The top was full of water and it pooled up between the ceiling bars, but no visible deformation of the metal. We pushed the water off with a broom once it was over and it looked good as new. Very glad it survived, our last cheap pergola would have been in a different zip code.
Also the adjustment is super easy and very nice to have, so we can keep a view of the yard and keep the sun off us any time of day, as long as you install it east-west.

Won’t withstand moderate wind
I was so happy with the sturdy structure of this pergola. After only a week installed, we had some 20 mph winds and the canopy shade didn’t do well. We came up with a solution to keep the canopy from flapping in the wind but then the side pole broke so now it is unusable. I’m trying to figure out how to reach the company to maybe get a replacement part. Disappointed that Amazon makes it hard to contact the seller.

First of all the package was delivered today with no damage to the box what so ever. That being said, critical parts that were bent and scratched that left the factory like that. I spent a lot of time straightening and deburing this set. - I was extremely disappointed how the item arrived. All peices were well marked and covered in plastic sheeting. Of coarse the instructions sucked, but lets face it they all do- I have put together enough of these things over the years to know how to interpert stupid diagrams.
Save your money and do not buy this set!

If I had an easy way of repackaging and sending this back I would have, but this would not have been an easy task ( 2 guys delivered it)
The engineering of this product is sound.
I just put together a Purple Leaf gazebo and the quality and packaging was superb.
Scratches and bent parts sent on purpose from the factory left a bad taste in my mouth
