- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2018This is a well designed computer package for most users. I found the boot up speed to be exceptional. 12MB of memory and 2 TB of hard drive make this an excellent value. Out of the box set up took little time as it picked up a number of Microsoft updates. However, one of the best things about this machine is the total absence of ad-ware from Acer or others. Just a nice clean blank screen to begin building on. Wireless setup was flawless. Find the router, enter the passcode and your online. Most users will want to replace the wired mouse with a wireless one. The keyboard is very adequate and functional. There is room to add other drives such as an SSD and accessory cards. This computer will be used to stream or church services. I'll update after we improve our internet speed. I recommend and would buy again. Other reviewers have indicated this machine, with the addition of a dedicated graphics card would make a suitable gaming computer.
Update: this PC will not take a standard SSD. Both SATA plugs are tied to the HDD and optical drive. But, you can add an M.2 form factor SSD to the motherboard. I'll write a separate review on the Crucial M.2 drive.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2018This PC is a STEAL! At just under $500 I have no idea how they get such good parts into the machine for this price. As someone who was looking to get into PC gaming this is the perfect starter system as the specs are comparable to some $600+ "entry-level" PCs. There are a lot of options for upgrades if youre looking to own this PC for a while and upgrade the parts one at a time to make it into a truly great gaming rig. Some tips to make this thing worth a lot more than you buy it for and improve its performance for gaming are to add in any dedicated gpu (be careful as some cards may require you upgrade the standard but relatively small 300W psu), any standard ssd (the 7200rpm 2TB hdd isn't terrible and is pretty quick - with more than enough space for any user - but you'll always get faster performance from an ssd), and of course a larger and more efficient power supply. Some more thoughts: the on board graphics are fine for regular office use and web surfing but are sorely lacking for media consuption like movies and video games. The Core i5 is a fantastic mid tier cpu but youll have a better experience overall by stepping it up and replacing it with an i7. Additionally the 12GB of drr5 ram is more than enough for everyday use and is a good middle-ground between a lot of cheaper rigs with only 8gb or the much more pricey 16gb systems. The case isnt anything special but there are a plethora of usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports for all your peripherials. The included mouse and keyboard are usable but underwhelming and I'd reccomend using other ones, especially if you're going to be gaming, but even if you're just going to be doing work on it.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2018Usually I build my own rigs but this time I decided to avoid the hassle. I wasn’t disappointed with this computer.
PROS:
1. The 2Tb HDD isn’t as slow as I expected it to be. Noisier than an SSD yes but it handles simple tasks just great.
2. This i5 processor for this price is great. Wouldn’t compare it to your standard gaming rig processor. However it is competitive among entry level processors. Let’s be honest here, great processors are getting cheaper while cheap processors are getting better.
3. Case has good space for air flow.
CONS:
1. Just two SATA ports. This is an issue not just with this computer but computer manufacturers over all.
2. With streaming and simple games becoming more and more prevalent there should be a low end graphics card in these computers.
I managed to install a EVGA 750ti 2gb I had laying around. Will upgrade later along with power supply (maybe).
3. RAM is 8gb and 4gb making 12gb total. I’ve never been a fan of running different ram sticks. Just don’t like taking that risk. Acer is just better off putting 16gb.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2018Really a great price for the hardware u're getting. Saved me easily $250 from doing it myself. Easy setup, Windows 10 preloaded, didn't even have to enter a key. Once up an running the software automatically activated itself. Very little bloat wear loaded, hard drive nice and quiet and responsive. Keyboard and mouse were cheap, didn't bother using them. Even saved an additional $50 because it was on sale when I got it. Had a SATA PCIe 2-port add in card so I installed it along with a one slot PCIe video card. May add a SSD down the road but right now its not really needed. If u're looking for a very nice, all around system for light game play and home use get it, I purchased it for my wife and she loves it. Very happy camper. Can't believe how quiet it is.
Con: Very limited on what you can upgrade, motherboard is really locked down. Only 2-SATA ports and a M.2 slot. Because of the size of the power supply u're video card will be limited. I knew all this going in so it was really no surprise. Some very nice YouTube videos on this computer, check them out.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2018No problems with this so far. I've been using it over a month and other than making the switch from Win 7 to Win 10, it's been a fine experience. I did not know that you can''t read Win 7 files on a Win 10 platform, so at first I thought I had lost all my pics, docs, pdfs, and videos when my old computer blew up. After a bit of research I came to find out the issue was Windows making like more complicated than needed. A simple download and install of Classic Shell, and like magic all my old files appears on my old hard drive and my backup drive. Why Windows? Why so complicated?. The computer itself is great. It allows easy use of a dual monitor set up, plug and play access to my wifi Canon printer, and even the bluetooth works well. The hard drive is fast and the 12gb of ram makes a huge difference. A few more USB ports would be nice, however hubs are cheap now so no big deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente equipo y rendimiento
