Seems like a good budget computer. Was glad to see the Optaine memory combined with a large magnetic drive - seems like it was sufficiently performant. It had Norton and Dropbox offers on it at boot. Firefox was preinstalled too. Otherwise not much bloat. Wanted to post some pictures of the inside and such. There are two open slots for expansion cards, and the 8 GB of memory was in one of the two memory slots. So lots of future expandibility.

My friends call me a computer nerd. Been buying and fixing and building computers my entire life. This is a very good desktop computer. Very good speed, excellent memory, nice hard drive.

I spent 300 dollars 3 years ago on a Dell computer. I never really liked it. In three years, three days ago, it crashed. Most likely and according to test it was the hard drive. I wanted something different. The Desktop computers are much easier to fix and to update, and they stay cooler. I had a monitor and good keyboard, so a very easy decision. True it is not portable.

Often reviewers will say this is not a gaming computer. But if you know about gaming computers they are very expensive prices running as high a $2000 dollars. You will not get a gaming computer for $400. Someone said they could build one for less than 400 dollars. That is not true. The advantages of building one is you can get what you want. I built one once and it is not cheap, and of course you best know what you are doing.

However for most people this computer at 400 dollars is a real deal. I like Windows 10 but not necessaryily the updates. But I think they are learning and are making fewer mistakes. I took the virus program off. Good deal for one year until the sticker price of renewal. The windows virus program is sufficient unless you want to search the internet and open unkown websites. Acer does not have the nagging programs that some computers have.

So I have been highly recommended this computer to my friends.

Got this for a relative, so needed to do all the original set up, including tweaking the system, testing it out, getting system/O.S. updated, installing a dozen or so programs on it including security, utilities, OpenOffice suite, a few basic games, etc.

Often, I'll experience a couple~few glitches along the way, especially with all my tweaking & security efforts, but only had 1 minor glitch apparently related to a Windows (O.S.) update along the way.. it hung upon shutting down; but after a couple of forced shut-downs & reboots, it was fine again and no problems since.

It's reasonably fast (the 16 gigs of Optane memory cache ~ similar to having a small SSD for caching -- seems to help) and runs every program I threw at it..tho nothing too demanding..no big games or video editing.

All in all, a very good and seemingly solid system for a low-cost computer (paid $400 for it, not incl tax). Of course, it went on special sale a few days later for $300.. but still a good value at $400.

First, it's a very visually appealing desktop. I was replacing a HP Slimline PC that quit after the last power outage. It setup in no time at all. Looks to be very quick for what I need (emails, spreadsheet, internet surfing, pictures). Glad the desktop wasn't cluttered with programs I don't want but they are loaded. So far the most annoying thing is Norton asking to upgrade. For the money looks to be a very capable PC...recommend if you don't want to spend over $500

I bought this when they had a deal for $300, so objectively it was a good deal. Now that it is currently at $400, I probably wouldn't get it (just bought another computer for gaming to replace anyway).

8 GB of RAM is a bit small, although it handles just fine with normal work and watching videos. The Optane hard drive is actually pretty good, runs a lot like an SSD, so you really don't need to get an SSD. (They have a deal with an SSD for $20 more, which if going that route I say do it, and add a regular hard drive later. OS will be more protected.) Games are no-go for this initial configuration.

I replaced the RAM with 32 GB (only has 2 RAM slots, boooooo). I bought a 1050TI graphics card only to find it does not have an extra power cable, so I bought the GT 1030 not requiring additional power. After finding out that it only can output max 500W, I decided to hold off on getting adapter cables to try the 1050TI for fear that I may fry the motherboard.

Games now work well. Dark Souls 3 can be run in lowest settings, along with Witcher 3. Most other games can be played just fine, except for the cheapest games that seem to want more 3D rendering. World of Warcraft seems to work fine in the Auction House, but I have yet to pay $15 to play more of it.

I'm well satisfied for this computer. If the $300 deal comes back (or especially $320 with SSD if it is available), I would definitely recommend it. I may even buy another to place in my home back in the states simply as a media PC.

This isn't some powerful computer for gaming, but if you want something that can run windows 10 and can be used for internet and watching movies then there is nothing better than this for the price. They did the smart thing and went for a higher speed hard drive. That means that your boot times and general responsiveness of the computer will be a lot better without extra cost. The computer has never had a single technical issue and the build quality and case design are great. Buy this computer!!!

I gave it a tough weekend work-out. As a bare bones simple business computer it's fine, ACER keyboard is very cramped but it is definitely fast enough motherboard. The video card is very disappointing, I have old XP machines that do better with movies and rendering websites than this machine. I also have an ACER TC-780, which seems a much better performer in several respects, and competently trouble free - which is why I bought a back-up ACER. I'm betting is will be a long-term solid, yet simple, work machine for docs and spreadsheets...but I don't expect much more.

Very economical computer. I wanted to use it for gaming, but I had to make other upgrades to it. It really can't run origin games. It would crash trying to run some of them, other the quality was really low and it would lag. But, the good news is that there's plenty of room to add a large graphics card and extra RAM stick in the case. It has two extra spots for hard drives too, one of them being attached to the dvd optical drive though. I've had it for a few weeks and I've had no problems. Good computer choice for anyone
