    Wow! Impressed!
I traveled from the U.S. and spent a month in the UK with this projector serving as my “TV” in my Airbnb stays. It performed FLAWLESSLY! I flew it in my checked bag and I brought along a flash drive that I preloaded with my favorite shows in case I didn’t have an internet connection somewhere. It worked perfectly. And when I had an internet/wifi connection at my Airbnb, I could watch all YouTube and Netflix I wanted. The picture looked good enough to watch in daytime and looked excellent at night with lights off. The autofocus performed very well. The picture was huge/wall size. I attached a mini tripod and sat the projector on a nightstand in the bedroom. It projected great onto the opposite wall at night. The remote worked well too. Can’t say enough good things about this device. I’m not a very techy person but easily learned how to install apps and files onto the projector.

I spent 2 months watching various YouTube videos, learning about portable projectors, & how to shop for them so let me save you the headache. This thing is good. Not the best, but definitely the best bang for your buck in the portable mid tier range.

Pros: Android TV (run apps, games, whatever is on the Android TV version of Play Store) no proprietary OS nonsense. A couple GBs of onboard storage have allowed me to install a custom build of Kodi, VLC, Twitch, & RetroArch, WiFi AND Bluetooth You can totally screen mirror Android and I've had no issues hooking up my Xbox controller or my headset. The 8 watt speaker is AMAZING for how small this thing is. ACTUAL Native 720p resolution! I learned really quick that the cheaper projectors like to list HD but they're full of crap. That's not the projector resolution they're listing, that's the video resolutions you can input to it. Most of the cheaper ones project 480p. This thing is legit 720p. The auto focus & keystone are great (there's a con to the keystone though & we'll get to that).

Cons: 200 ANSI Lumen isn't all that bright. It's better than most portables but this is definitely a dark room projector. The battery life sucks. You're only going to get the advertised 2.5 hours in battery mode (1/2 brightness) with the WiFi/Bluetooth off and at about half volume. HIGHLY suggest pairing this thing with a 10,000mAh USB brick. I even hooked it up to an invertor & an old 12 volt car battery once just fine. Netflix doesn't work. That's not the projector's fault btw, Netflix are just SUPER picky about what can use their apps. You can't even screen mirror Netflix to this thing. On the bright side there IS a work around. You have to download the Nebula Manager app on the projector, run Netflix through THAT, then download the Nebula Companion app on a separate phone or tablet. Netflix will work but the trade off is your remote is almost useless in there & you have to then use a virtual remote on your phone or tablet in the Nebula Companion app. It's definitely not ideal but it DOES work. We just binged the new Cyberpunk anime that way. Lastly, and the only REAL pain for me is no horizontal keystone. It's super frustrating because it's running a digital keystone & the vertical is REALLY good. Anker PLEASE push a firmware update & give us horizontal keystone already. Lastly the price. I waited to catch this thing on sale for $429.99 & that's a decent price for what all you get in one tiny unit. I wouldn't pay more than $450 for it given the the lack of digital horizontal keystone. There's cheap $100 projectors that have that. I know it's just a software fix & I KNOW you're only doing it to sell the Capsule Max. Plenty of people will still buy the Max for the better battery life, push the update you cowards!

All in all I'm happy with my projector. If you NEED more battery life you can get the Max that has all the same specs as this thing and allegedly does 4.5 hours as well as horizontal keystone too. Literally the only difference is this one has real AndroidTV and runs off of USB-C. Those were the deciding factors for me. Hope this helps some of you in your decision.

I really love my Nebula Capsule II. I have seen some negative reviews on here and don’t quite understand why people are rating it so low. Maybe I’m lucky because I haven’t had much issue with it other than the occasional disconnect from WIFI. It was very clear to me that when I bought the device that it would always need to run on WiFi and that the brightness wouldn’t be as good as other expensive models from Epson, Samsung, Optoma, or BenQ.

With that said, the video quality is excellent, and yes you can only use it in a dark room, but that is what you’re paying for. My friend has the smaller and older model of the nebula capsule and there is a noticeable difference in video steaming quality and sound quality. Truly.

I only use this projector in my 12 x 12 room and it works well. I have the projector set up approximately 11 feet from the wall and the quality is amazing. While I use the Nebula II in a limited capacity, it gets the job done. When I have the money I will definitely get an epson model that boasts 4K quality optics for the living room.

I also see a lot of complaints about not having access to Netflix. While I agree, it also doesn’t cost much more to get a roku streaming stick —don’t most people have one these days? While I wish this projector could stream shows and movies without WiFi… it is what it is. I bought this thing after doing my research, knowing it’s pros and cons. I also think that the capsule could benefit from having a longer charging cord, but oh well.

Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase and it made the pandemic a much more tolerable time. I give it 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5.

I’ve included a video if y’all want to see the video quality. In real time!

      Edit 9/13/2021:
The background noise is NOT the projector but a fan and air purifier (because CA is going up in flames and the air quality is bad). Also at the beginning of this video you will see a transition in clarity. This is because I had to adjust for the initial blurriness when shooting the video on my iPhone 11 in the dark. This video was shot in the late evening in my bedroom.

The Nebula Capsule II has been a great portable projector. Image quality is nice and bright in a darkened room, and the sound is decent for something so compact.

The Android OS is easy to navigate, and having a USB and HDMI port makes streaming your favourite media easy when you aren’t connected to wifi. The projector can also connect to Bluetooth speakers, which gives the audio a nice boost when watching movies.

The projector has a decent battery life (2 hrs of continuous use, approx). You can also use this projector while it charges, which is a nice bonus. (My charge cable wasn’t working properly when I got this projector, but after contacting the nice folks @ customer support, they quickly sent me a new replacement cable. 👍)

This is a fun, compact little unit. A great purchase to kick off the new year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Literally a(n amazing smart) TV in a can.
Reviewed in Canada on May 27, 2020
The Nebula Capsule 2 is amazing! I bought it with portability in mind, but ended up getting a device with so much more. It runs full Android TV. It features all the main streaming platforms (YouTube, Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Spotify, Twitch, Crunchyroll, even Firefox browser). I have also tested the Capsule using a flash drive (NTFS format) and even an external Western Digital hard drive - I can confirm you can watch videos (even 4k movies in .mkv format) on the Capsule 2 (ensure to download a file explorer like ES or FX file explorer and VLC media player apps- both free from the Google Play store on the Capsule). Despite being 720P, the picture quality looks really crisp!

I also tested console gaming, the Nintendo Switch and PS4 looks amazing and plays just fine! You can switch between projector and a dedicated bluetooth speaker mode via a button on the back.

Also, to dispel what a lot of reviews are saying; you can in fact sign in to your YouTube account and access your playlists/subscriptions/etc. Netflix is not natively supported, but it is so easy and so quick to access it (especially with the Nebula app that basically acts as a remote control and keyboard). Another thing to note is that the projection is much brighter when you plug it in - so a battery pack (recommend Anker as well) or extension cable is highly recommended.

The Capsule 2 also has Google Assistant, so you can get it to control smart devices hooked up on the same network in your home. Amazing

Overall: expensive investment but well worth it considering what you are getting + hyper portability and feature rich. Even more so considering the (sadly nonreplaceable) bulb lasting 30 000 hours (equivalent to watching straight for 3.42 years), you'll get your use out of it :)
