BÖHM Bluetooth Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones with In-line Microphone - Black / Silver Aaaaaaand another update! 01/06/2017 I purchased the headphones on May 17, 2016. They have been reliable and good sounding ever since. I use them on a regular basis except for travel. The battery has remained consistent in power and recharging time and I have adapted to the snug fit (Which I think may be contributing to the reports of broken head rests (bands - has not occurred in my case yet). I have also found the headphones as a go-to for hands free calling. The noise cancellation feature reportedly downgrades the signal however, the process to cancel noise is one of two processes or both: emitting a frequency to cancel the external noise signal and / or filtering a specific frequency range on either a dynamic or fixed level. This will always have an impact on the sound quality however, this set of headphones sounds (and i am no specialist) as if it relies more on the filtering technology. Over all, I have not regretted my purchase at all however the price is still a negative factor in my opinion. If I were to buy a pair if headphones again, I would by a higher quality headphone such as the h.ear bluetooth or the MDR7506 (Wired - for studio use) ...Aaaaaaand an update! There are the same headphones selling for 49.95 under the name of Diskin. I am not sure if they are the exact same headphones but they appear to be. I am still happy with my purchase however, I still think that these are too expensive. The Bohm B-66 have performed as expected. The fidelity, dynamic range and loudness is very acceptable for the price paid. The bluetooth pairs to one device at a time. I have found on Windows devices, you may have to refresh the connection once disconnected ("Set as default device") in the sound preferences for the headphones to reconnect (may be an isolated issue local to my computer I am not sure). The bluetooth reception seems to be based more from the device detecting the headphones rather than from the headphones itself, as for my Macbook has a weaker reception than my windows laptop. Do not expect Bluetooth to have strong transmission, broadcast and reception through walls and floor levels. Having said that they advertise the software as Advanced Bluetooth 4.0: Industry-leading CSR bluetooth 4.0 with 33-Foot wireless range. Seems to be accurate from a line of sight test. The overall build quality seems to be acceptable as well. I believe that the cans and stanchion brackets up to the headrest are all aluminum. Very light and fit my small dome comfortably, maybe even a little snug. The controls seem to be firm and punctual yet with slower performance and delay when remote volume is being used. When connected directly to the laptop via cable I could not get the remote volume and track change controls to work. This is expected as I have had another pair in the same price range that does the exact same thing ( I do not believe the remote design is set up for this type of functionality). Overall I imagine that I may have paid approximately $10-15 too much for these. So far I think these are still worth it as long as they hold up over the next several years (as I have only had them for a few days). They are not studio quality headphones (not for sound referencing) but still not a bad frequency range for leisure listening. Do not expect these to be a $200-$400 pair of headphones for sound referencing or a Beats type pair of headphones with enhanced lows.

I seem to buy headphones about once every year or two. For several years, I was getting the Etymotic in ear "earphones" which insert deep into the ear canal and blocking extraneous noises. These were really great but you did have to clean ear wax out of them regularly and inevitably, one side or the other would quit working. Still, at around $100 they were great. Besides only lasting about a year, they were "wired" headphones and when working out at the gym, I did occasionally get caught up in the wire.

After my last pair of Etymotic earphones died, which had been probably my third or fourth pair, I decided to go with some wired "on-ear" headphones from Brookstone. I was browsing in their store at the mall one day and tried these noise-canceling headphones and they really sounded great. They sounded about as good as the Etymotic's but appeared a little "sturdier" and I was hoping they would last a little longer. Sadly, again during a workout at the gym, the wires got caught up in one of the machines and the wire to the right side came loose. I watched youtube videos on how to fix loose wires on headphones and tried to do a fix to no avail. Here I was again, with another pair of headphones that were dead long before their time.

The reason I want noise cancelling headphones or ear buds that block out extraneous noise is because the gym I go to plays their own music way too loudly. This was the case at 24 Hour Fitness I went to for several years. The staff turned up the overhead speakers so loudly that you could hear their music over your own. The staff imposed their music on the clients. The Etymotics did a pretty good job of "sealing" out the staff's obnoxious beats but finally I tried out a Planet Fitness and initially, for the first few months I went there, staff did not play their own music so loudly that you couldn't hear your own. They also charged only a fraction of what 24 Hour Fitness charged, had newer equipment, and seemed cleaner to me. Sadly, after the first few months, the staff there started playing their music more loudly over the overhead speakers, competing with my headphones again.

When my Brookstone, on ear headphones couldn't be fixed, I decided I was done with wired headphones. They are just not practical for a vigorous workout when wireless are available. I read various reviews of "wireless noise-cancelling headphones for around $100." I liked what I read about the BOHM B66 and I liked the way they looked. The price was right.

When I received the headphones, I charged them with the usb wire. When I took them to the gym, I found that the noise-cancelling feature seemed a little weak but the volume was enough to still cancel out the gym's overhead speakers. Over the next week or so, I did try the noise-cancelling feature every time I used the headphones, trying to tell the difference between having the noise cancelling on and the noise cancelling off. Some sounds, I could tell a discernible difference with the noise cancelling on but it was not a dramatic affect. It did work adequately for my purposes, though, along with the volume controls. I do wish I could turn up the volume just a wee bit more when I love a song but my eardrums are probably thankful that I can not turn them up any louder.

Overall, I think these headphones sound about as good as the Etymotics and the Brookstones but have the added advantage of no wires. I went multiple days at the gym on the first charge. Finally, I did bring them in and charged them again but may have lasted a few more days if I had not. They look great. They sound great. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Overall I find these to be excellent bluetooth headphones.

      PROS
-- Dead simply to operate. Your right cup has a switch that you can pull up or down, without looking, to turn on the ambient sound removal. Your left cup has three buttons; a big one which you hold down to turn on the unit (and hear a specifc beep when the bluetooth is live and connected) and some volume-next track button. Each is completely simple to operate with the headphones on your head.

-- Very comfortable; at least for reasonable periods of usage. The unit did not feel heavy; and it is held on your head basically with the top bar acting as a spring. For my big-guy head; it felt just fine; but after about 90 minutes of usage my ears were a bit sore. I think this might not happen on smaller heads and it likely will ease up after some time.

-- The sound quality is excellent. I have read some other reviews here bemoaning the sound quality through bluetooth. Here's what I've found: On my little Lenovo laptop, playing a few specific youtube clips sounded, frankly, terrible. They sounded very compressed and a bit tinny. Then I played the same clips on my ipad air 2. They sounded fantastic; they sounded almost, but not quite, as good as when I listened to them with the accompanying wire that the speakers come with in case you want to plug your speakers in directly. So clearly the issue is not with the headphones; but the source of the audio. My laptop uses bluetooth 4.0, which is assumed was fairly robust, and I don't know what my ipad uses. But for whatever reason, the ipad was fantastic and the laptop terrible. So I'm chalking that up to the source and not the headphones.

EDIT: since this I found a youtube video that absolutely provided the solution to the terrible audio from my laptop. Not sure if I can post a link here, so search "How to Fix Bluetooth Audio Quality - Windows 10 Tutorial" on youtube for the very simple solution. I am fairly well convinced that people who have said the sound quality of these headphones was terrible might likely be suffering from this glitch present in windows 10. Because they really absolutely do sound terrific.

-- The build quality feels very solid and professional, especially for the price. The unit feels very solid and professionally built. It doesn't feel at all chintzy or "plasticky"... though the cans might, in fact be made of plastic; I can't really tell.

EDIT: after a week of use, they still feel fairlysolid, but I've managed to get a few scratches on the outside of the cans. They don't feel quite
solid as when I first got them; ever so slightly "plasticky" (but not much; just more than their first impression).

      CONS
-- So far (a few days into owning them) none, really.

I have owned a lot of headphones of various types. I gravitate towards the medium priced units that approximate the sounds quality and build quality of more expensive units; that's the kind I look for. Basically I look for headphones in the 80 to 130 dollar range; and compare them against much more expensive headphones. Of the three bluetooth headphones I've owned, these are far and away the best. In fact it feels like finally bluetooth headphones have been kind of "perfected" with these units; especially when I compare them to older units I've owned. Uniformly they sounded terrible, they looked ridiculous, it was impossible to pair them with your ipad or other device, and they died with exposure to any sweat (which is especially annoying since they were marketed as "sport" headphones). These headphones have none of these issues.

I paid 67 dollars for mine, (part of some special one day sale on Amazon. At that price these are an absolute bargain. At 100 bucks, they feel like a pretty good deal. At 130 bucks, I think they were great, but I'd also be checking out other units just to make sure there wasn't another one out there almost as good, but cheaper.
