Product Description

The DuroMax XP13000EH is a Dual Fuel workhorse powered by a 500cc OHV Engine and runs on gasoline or propane. This unit provides the power normally found in stationary home standby units but in a portable package. With 10,500 watts of running power and the ability to surge up to 13,000 watts, this generator can power household essentials such as lights, small and large appliances, and your home's central A/C system. The fully loaded power panel features multiple outlets including 2 120V GFCI protected household outlets, and individual breakers to prevent overloading and keep everything safe. This unit is both EPA and CARB approved for operation in all 50 states.

The top end came apart not when it went into over speed
Customer services is horrible . I bought one and it took off and ran away and then blew up and they blamed me for saying I didn’t serviced the oil changes in a timely manner. The oil change has nothing to do with the unit running away and over speeding and not shutting its self off then blowing up and when I mean blowing up the top end cracked . If it was on the bottom end I could say maybe the oil but the top end came apart and it’s not under warranty.

Comes with all require electric plug ends (not electrical cables.) Even an oil fill funnel (through no oil and must use regular oil for 8 hr. break in.) Heavy but easy to move.

    Purchased 2 of these units one week apart in March 2022 to power our new 5th wheel RV. These units are super powerful and easily ran our RV with 3 AC units during the brutal Phoenix summer months. They were really easy to set up and we have used both gas and propane to power (husband is a contractor but didn't really need special skills to set up.) We rotated these 2 with our existing Westinghouse Wgen 7500 generator to provide 24/7 power during triple digit heat as we are boondocking on raw land with no utilities.

    Unfortunately, from day 1 the first Duromax unit used excessive oil. In August the first unit died and could not be repaired. We submitted a warranty claim online. During the delay between claim submission and receipt of the new unit, we spent over a thousand dollars renting a Honda generator (super loud and gas guzzler). The week after the new unit was delivered the 2nd unit died. After submitting a 2nd warranty claim, I went onto the Duromax website and submitted a 1 star review detailing all of our issues since purchase.

    Within 15 minutes I received a phone call from Brandon in Customer Service at Duromax. He apologized for the delay in replacing the first unit and the overall issues we experienced, expedited the replacement of our 2nd unit AND sent us a reimbursement check for the full amount we paid to rent a generator. He also provided his email and direct phone number in the event that we had any further issues.

    Since then, they have shipped us new carbon brushes, AVRs, an electric starter and other pieces needing to be replaced for regular maintenance. For the number of hours they are used, it is to be expected that parts will wear out. They cost us nothing as all were under warranty. We know that we use our units alot more than most. If you just need an emergency backup unit for a couple of days here and there, you will love these generators!

    Customer Service has made us big fans. These generators are super powerful and half the price of the "comparable" competitors (we did alot of research). The replacement units have not had the same oil issue, so we may have just gotten a bad unit.

    No equipment is perfect. We really appreciate that once they were aware of the problems they stepped up to make us whole and ensure that we were happy. Thanks Duromax!

    FYI, we tried a Predator generator from Harbor Freight. It lasted 1 week and we returned it.

    I picked up the DuroMax XP13000EH to have some backup power during storms, and it’s been awesome so far! It can power my entire house without any hiccups. I can even run the AC and the water heater simultaneously, which is super convenient. While I’m not sure it could handle everything, including the electric stove, at the same time, it’s definitely more than enough for any power outage.

    One of my favorite features is the push-button start. It makes things so easy even for my wife! Switching between gas and propane is a breeze too. Plus, the wheels are a lifesaver for moving it around, even though it’s a bit on the heavy side. It feels really sturdy and well-made, mostly constructed from metal, so you won’t find any flimsy plastic parts here. Overall, I’m really pleased with my purchase and would totally recommend it to anyone in the market for a dependable dual fuel generator!

    I rarely write reviews, but I feel obligated this time. I was replacing a very good generator with this slightly larger one to power not only my whole house, but also the air conditioning. I'm in Florida, and got hit with multiple hurricanes in 2024. The Duromax XP13000EH is a well built, well designed generator. it started right up on gasoline after the minor assembly of wheels and handles. The owners manual is one of the best, most clearly written of any manual I've received. I really like the electric starter. Push the button for 2 secs, and it will repeatedly crank without further input from you. Customer service was pleasantly helpful (just don't call on a Monday morning!!) So, why not 5 star?

    Shipping: this unit weighs approximately 234 lbs, and ships in a cardboard box. It arrived damaged. Turns out, the damage was cosmetic, but I didn't know that initially (Amazon did compensate me for the damage. I'm sure they didn't want to exchange this heavy shipment item). There should be a wooden frame around the box for shipping. I've read other reviews also complaining about shipping damage.

    Propane: It took me a week of troubleshooting to find out why the unit would not start on propane. First customer service told me I needed to purchase an NGK spark plug, if the unit didn't ship with one (later Duromax sent me a spark plug anyway). They also said the 20 lb propane bottle wasn't putting out enough pressure (3 PSI minimum. to start the generator). Next conversation with customer service, they told me to check the spark plug gap, and get a bigger propane tank. Turns out, the unit did ship with a NGK spark plug, but the gap was way off. I adjusted the gap (.20 MM),
    and it started right up on the 20 Lb propane tank. (Why wasn't the gap set properly before shipment.)

    i recommend the duromax XP13000EH. Hopefully these few problems I had will not be chronic.

    This generator offers so much peace of mind. It works very efficiently and I am very happy I made the purchase.
    There was only a few pieces to assemble, and once the wheels were on, it was easy to move, and the noise level is moderate with a small covering over it. I built a small house and put it in my backyard.
    By the way, Amazons delivery was so slick. It was delivered on the day as promised early in the day and with absolutely no issues by very friendly, helpful people.
