I mainly use these for gaming. The price was right and the audio was good, above average IMHO. They have held up well for 6+ years. There is an separate USB-A adapter for 7.1 surround, which accepts the 2.3mm audio jack. Not bad, but not exceptional surround. There is a volume control on the back of the right earpiece, and you can mute the mic by raising it or with a button on the 7.1 surround adapter. The 7.1 surround adapter also has L and R balance controls.
