Cut vacuuming in half Used unit looks new
Opened the I robot 671 and promptly put on charge for 3 hrs, I had to change the side brush because it was not shaped correctly. Luckily I purchased the filter and cleaning kit which had that part, downloaded the app and connected the WiFi with the unit. Set a schedule for everyday with the app . To first fire the USED AMAZON REPACKED unit we let it go. It ran for 45 min and docked !!! What ? It has a 90 min max! OH the filter box was full. It cleaned wonderfully! We have wood floors, tile and rugs wit a Jack Russell shedding constantly. I cleaned out the filter and sent it out again not fully charged and it didn’t dock. To be fair I picked it up and placed it in a room we previously had shut. Maybe it needs to start from the dock to know where to return. Update we have had this for several months and it’s the best! It cleans the entire house in an hour and a half, docs most of the time but every once in a while it will get stuck under the bed where one of the places I only use to clean 2 times a year! We love it it will change your life!

I just looked back and see that I bought this in June or 2018. Currently it is relegated to my EZ Breeze enclosure as I have the self emptying 3+ for the main part of my house. It's so easy to use that my cat regularly vacuums for me. She is seriously fascinated with this and likes to push the button and then stalk it. Maintenance has been minimal. I replaced the brush motor once which was really easy and not at all expensive. I think I used a 3rd party solution. I think I put new brushes in it once and I replace the filter every so often. It does great on hardwood and even does really well on carpet. In my previous house, I had a berber carpet. It was low pile but I had three long haired mostly white cats and the cat hair would really stick to it. Now it's working with low pile indoor outdoor carpet. I often use the Alexa app to start it, if the cat hasn't vacuumed already. It's been a real time saver over the years. However, if you can swing it, I would recommend the self emptying base. I think the 3+ is the least expensive. That one has maps. I can't really see a reason to buy anything more complicated than the 3+. I bought that one 3 years ago, for our retirement home, and it has been equally trouble free. We are now retired and I vacuum almost every night. It's a little noisy, so I use ear plugs. I really don't think I need to put a new bag in more than a couple of times a year. I do have to clean cat hair out of the rollers and wheels on a regular basis (once a month or so?). These things are built to last!

I've owned this vacuum for a couple of years. I bought so that I could tell my wife that I vacuum the house and clean everyday. We bought a kit to replace the brushes and parts about a year and a half in. That kit was very affordable and worked great. I recommend looking into this.
As far as Alexa goes, I can't ever remember if the command is "Roomba Clean", "Roomba Go Home.". There is a specific command necessary for the Alexa to communicate to the Roomba and unless you use it every day or are very good at remembering commands, you'll find yourself picking it up by hand and setting it back on its port or just pushing the clean button on top. You will have to empty the bin out of it anyway so you have to physically handle the machine no matter what.
My favorite feature is that you can schedule start times. So every morning, it turns on and vacuums after we leave for work around 8:30am. We never hear it run, come home and find it in wherever it got stuck, and empty the bin. Pretty simple and it really helps keep the dust down.
The downside of the machine is that it tends to get stuck. If you have a phone charger or some chord, carpet tassel, string, etc. laying around, it will find it and suck it up. Fortunately, it stops before ever tearing anything up so far. Just pull the brush out and untangle whatever it is, set it back down and let it continue cleaning.

    Style: Roomba 671020Verified Purchase
I'm a big fan of automation tech/robots - all that stuff - but I waited a few years on this for the inevitable bugs to be worked out. I also splurged for the 3 year warranty since this is my first robot and it has lots of moving parts. We have a cat and dog that both shed so a good vacuum is a must. Overall - after 3 weeks of 3x/week use and tempered expectations - I am not disappointed.

    Pros:
    1) The standout feature so far is the battery life/charge time of this model. It lasts well over 90 minutes in my house working on mostly hard surfaces. That's enough to do 2 medium-sized rooms. It fully charges in a little over an hour and is ready to go again. All told it takes two battery charges to do about 1500 sq.ft. Not bad.
    2) The iRobot app is a nice bonus. The Roomba pushes notifications to your phone (stuck, job done, etc.) and you can check the job/battery status any time. Best of all - it works from anywhere. You can tick a box in the settings that lets you connect to the Roomba from outside of your home network. Brilliant. Worth the extra money for IoT connectivity.
    3) While this model is not "smart" enough to map your house and know where it's been (it seemingly just goes in random straight lines from wall to wall playing the odds that it covers everything) - it does do a good job of riding the edges against the wall and getting all but the tightest of corners. Once it realizes it's up against a wall - it hugs it tightly and runs the length getting all the crumbs and hair along the baseboards.
    4) The dirt trap and brushes/wheels are easy to access for maintenance. You'll need to address those every time you use it but it couldn't be easier.

    Cons:
    1) Suction is not the strongest. It only gets what's directly underneath it. Other vacuums are strong enough to pull in dirt from several inches around the vacuum. This one is not. I assume that's the trade off for the long battery life.
    2) While this robot can go easily go from hard floor to carpet/rug - it doesn't do a great job where the two meet. It fails to get much of anything right at the perimeter of our rugs/floor mats. I'm assuming that once one wheel is higher than the other - the brushes are no longer in contact with the floor and it misses anything under it while it is uneven. Easier to just pull up the mats before starting the job.
    3) There is one sensor that sticks out on top of the vacuum that helps it get stuck under our coffee table. While most of the robot is flat and can fit, that one protruding sensor causes it to get stuck. Has happened 2 out of three times.

    Tips:
    1) Use regularly - This is not a heavy duty vac. With pets, I need to run this every 2-3 days in order for it to really work well. If I wait a week - it will not get all of the Black Lab fur that gets pressed into the bedroom carpet.
    2) Prep - ours involves moving smaller objects out of the room entirely. The Roomba does a much better with fewer obstacles to navigate. Getting under the dining room table with the chairs in place - forget about it. We move those too. But the few minutes that takes is well worth it for the better results.
    3) Go one room at a time. My house has an open floor plan and is too big a job to just turn it loose. We cordon off the open rooms so it can't leave. Currently using a wood plank to trap it in the room it's vacuuming. Probably will soon invest in the digital wall. Doing this takes a bit longer but produces better results than if we let it bounce around the entire house at once and drain the battery before it completes the job.

    Overall:
This robot is indeed a time saver though I seem to spend it watching the Roomba work. While I still have to break out the manual vacuum for corners and crevices - the Roomba dramatically reduces the frequency. I may even get by with only breaking out the heavy artillery once a month from here on out. After reading many reviews, my expectations for this robot was that it would do a decent job of regular floor maintenance and save me time. I am happy with the results and it actually does better than decent. This is a great addition to our busy life.

This robot is a big help in the house. It works really well to remove pets hair (and we have 2 cats at home). In less than 2h 3 bedrooms are clean! :) one small downside (noise), thought that it will be working more quietly. But in general can definitely recommend it! Happy with my purchase!!!:)

Perfect for a one bedroom with den cleanup, leaving this on when at work for a while and coming home to clean floors is a blessing. It does an incredible job and picks almost everything up, however weekly cleaning is still needed for areas it cannot reach but works great at picking up dust and hair
