Great great vacuum but still not enough for my dogs.

Great great vacuum but still not enough for my dogs.
I bought the refurbished model. Great deal and great device. Let me tell you it breaks my heart to return it. I have basically have three saint Bernards and have tried to find ways to deal with the never ending fur epidemic. I have tried a couple robot vacuums, this was my first Roomba. Let me tell you, the Roomba is the far superior brand, in my opinion. It charges faster, moves faster, dances around our furniture beautifully, is quieter, lasts on the battery longer, picks up the tiny dirt (you would be surprised just how much the other brands missed), when it bumps into things it does so gently, it gets itself unstuck, super easy to clean and finds its way home. I LOVED it. But it doesn't do what I need it to and after trying several devices I can only conclude that the technology just isn't there yet. I have to brush my dogs daily otherwise their fur mats. Well being so FLUFFY the lose hair bunches into tons and tons of light, floaty fur "bunnies" that stick to them, my clothes, my furniture and blow around on my floor. We even have a special rubber broom because any brush with bristles becomes so fur coated after one sweep you can't even see the color of the bristles. And I try to pick up all the clumps but the hair is the EXACT same color as my tile. This leaves my floor constantly littered with small fur bunnies. I thought a robot vacuum might be the solution I need. I did diligent research, looking for one specifically for pets and this was the only model I tried on a whim because it happened to be on sale while I was looking. Now this model does NOT pick up any bigger bunnies or toy fluff or shredded bits of cardboard etc (yes my dogs are trouble makers) but it picks up everything I can't. It pushes the larger stuff around but that helps too so I can see them and get them myself. It might even make big bunnies out of several little bunnies which also makes my life easier. No other models picked up the small debris like this one did. When I emptied it you could hear the rattle of all the bits falling in the trash. I was thrilled. I even saw it get stuck a couple of times and fix ITSELF! The ppl who complain about babysitting it need to get some confidence it can get out on its own. It might take a whole minute but it does it by itself. Here is where it fails me, specifically. When I run it, I notice the top three prong brush get so full of hair it's amazing it still moves. So I stop it every 20 minutes or so of running and clean it all out (SUPER EASY, not complaining). I thought after three days of me watching it, it would be okay to run while I am downstairs. Maybe an hour or so later I heard an error, came upstairs and it was in the middle of the floor. I picked it up and the bottom was PACKED with fur. I took a pic to show my husband (it's attached) and started to clean it. Once I touched the rollers I burnt myself. Those metal things at the end were HOT. The rubber on one of the rollers was also shredded in places. And as I cleaned it, the hair wrapped around the end smelt burnt. It was so strong that I had mini flashback to the 90s when I straightened my hair and melted a chunk. You can't forget that smell. In the end, I cannot trust it to run alone. Do I blame Roomba? No. You can see from the picture that we have a hair problem that only a rubber broom and a Dyson animal can remedy. And I would love to keep it and use it but I'm paranoid that it might start a fire. I know I will never be able to trust it while I'm out. I really am bummed about it. It was an amazing machine. Even told my family to get one and my sister who has labs. I'm just have to accept that no robot vacuum will solve my problem. I would also like to complain about the charger I received. I know it was a refurbished model but it was rusted. And the black glossy top of the machine was scratched all over. There was no manual or instructions or paperwork of any kind. Again don't blame Roomba tho because that's a refurbished problem. In the end I would TOTALLY recommend the machine. This one was the ONLY one able to climb our kitchen mats. Just be aware if you have a dog hair issue. The other machines I tried stop with an error for hair much sooner than this one did and never looked this bad but they were all terrible in every other aspect.

Got the 860 refurbished. It looked brand new and is so awesome. Never had a Roomba before and it is so cool. Choose this model since it was a little older model and refurb so it was less expensive (just can’t justify the price of a new one). Also got this model because the reviews said it has rubber rollers rather than bristle rollers. The rubber rollers have never gotten stuck and are GREAT at getting up pet hair (we have a long haired cat and a dog inside). The pattern/path of the Roomba seems very random. But in the end it seems to clean everything. And clean it well! It gets stuck under one piece of our furniture that has a scalloped bottom but other than that it does well as long as everything is off the floor. It will get hung on lamp cords, etc. The invisible fence that came with it is awesome to keep the Roomba from knocking over the cats food and water bowl. Very happy with this purchase! Battery last about an hour, then she puts herself back on the dock.

I was somewhat skeptical of this device. After two weeks of the Roomba cleaning my 800 sq ft I'm a believer. I just can't say enough good things about this. I even tested it several times leaving grains of rice in random parts of the floor. It found all off them while vacuuming over hardwood , tile and carpet. It mananges to find home about 90 percent of the time. The two times it didn't go home it was stuck on a t-shirt I left on the floor by accident.
The only con so far is it's a Little noisy. That can be fixed by letting it run when I'm away.
I don't think this will replace having to vacuum entirely however it's going to reduce the amount of times I will do significantly.

I have concrete floors in my condo, so I was literally sweeping twice a week. With this, I’ve literally been able to stop sweeping and just run it once a day. Since this is a ‘budget’ version, I will say it does a fantastic job. There’s very little it misses when it comes to the floor and the few sections of carpet I have. It is a bit loud, so I wouldn’t run it if you’re trying to watch Tv or sleep. Since it’s random, it will clean whereever it pleases, and occasionally get stuck and die. And a few times now, it’s closed the bathroom door on itself and cleaned until it could not more LOL. There IS NO APP for make sure you’re aware of that. And only real ‘problem’ I’ve had with it is that I’ve got a butcher block that pans hang off of, and it knocks them right off due to their height to the ground but nothing I can do there.

We LOVED the roomba, and it worked great!!! It never maps your house, it will just bang around, dust bin is really small as well, but it does vacuum really well. However, battery only lasted 2 months before I had to return it because it wouldn't charge anymore... I will be using my return towards an upgraded one...!

We picked this up as refurbished back in March. It came with all the instructions and extra filters. It was super easy to set up the schedule and as we have both dogs and cats we run it every day. The dogs and cats did not like it at first, now the Roomba has to bump into them for them to move when it runs. We live in Arizona where it is very dusty and between that and the animal fur our floors always need sweeping. Now we don't know why we didn't get one sooner. Our house is all tile with mats around the litter boxes. The Roomba rarely gets stuck, and I think we've only had to rescue it once. It cleans great, sucks up all the hair and dust, and is easy to empty. We have a small two bedroom house that takes less than an hour to clean. Sometimes it's a little stupid about trying to dock itself, but overall we are very pleased. When it's time for a new one we'll get an upgraded model.

Acquisto consigliabile.
