Extremely thin, cheap wood doesn't last!

Extremely thin, cheap wood doesn't last!
I bought this exact set from Toys R Us several years ago. When we put it together, I LOVED it. It was the perfect size and with all the fun elements my kiddo loved and was excited for. Fast forward 3 years and this thing has been a HUGE waste of our money. We reinforced the set with lots of extra ground stakes because it kept coming off the ground when kids would swing (we're talking 4 and 5 year olds). First off, when putting it together, we had to make some of our own holes because the pre-drilled holes didn't line up right, which made some pieces lopsided. So we fixed those. But over time (within maybe the first year) the pieces began to splinter and crack. The wood is super thin and poor quality! The cracks got bigger and several trim pieces came off entirely. The wood around the top near the slide fell off after the cracks from the screw holes got too large. One good storm came through and blew the whole thing over (mind you, this with about 15 ground stakes holding it down all the way around the bottom). The wood just broke clean through. Now it's just a pile of broken pieces in our yard. I know these are cheap and seem like a great way to afford a playset for your kids, but for the money you ought to have more than 3 years of playtime. Just my personal opinion- spend $700-1,000 on this, and in 2-3 years you'll either have to forego having a playset at all, or shelling out another $1,000 to replace it. Or save your money til you have enough to get one that actually lasts.

The product looks good when completed and seems very sturdy. However, assembly was very difficult for the following reasons. The parts were very poorly marked making assembly much like putting together a puzzle. This should not be attempted by a novice!
Many parts were missing and some parts were supplied for no apparent reason. Quality control was definitely absent in the manufacturing of this product. Made in China should be a red flag!
      Thank God for Donald Trump.

Pros: 1)good quality, 2)great design, 3)comes with extra parts, 4)common tools to put together

Cons: 1)the instructions to put it together looked like it was photo copied which affected the clarity of the diagrams, 2)some of the pieces of wood had a blurry part stamp or no stamp at all, 3)the chalkboard is not easy to erase

Be prepared to spend a good amount of time to put it together. We didn't give 5 stars basically because there was a lot of time spent figuring out what part was what but in the end the kids love it and so do we.

Purchased this on amazon prime day for an amazing deal, totally worth it! My 3-year old loves it, it’s the perfect size for any age group, my 12 year old loves to play right along with her. I’m a 5’8” 130lb woman who put this together by myself in roughly 36 hours, with two or three people it could easily be done in one day. The longest part is inventorying all the pieces which I highly recommend you do before hand. Instructions are easy to follow, holes are pre-drilled, everything fit together perfectly. I highly recommend, this swingset is sturdy! And gorgeous! And has everything little ones love, the rock wall, glider, and chalkboard are my daughters favorite!
