Haven’t used the remote, mostly because even when I put it in night mode I have to put something over the blue indicator lights or it keeps me up. It is very quiet. Even when red & on high power it’s quieter than my humidifier. However, I don’t think this is as efficient as they claim, and it doesn’t work quite as well as I read in other reviews. But it does work! It turns on a little while after a cat gets out of the litter box, and pretty much anytime I turn on the oven. But it only sort of tackles the cigarette smoke & dust. Husband smokes in the garage but when he comes in he brings a waft of smoke. Sometimes it cranks up for that, but not always. But after cleaning the filter it works even better - remember to vacuum that thing off on a regular basis.
After owning it and running it all day every day (in sleep mode about 8 hours at night), for over 5 months now it still functions wonderfully! I took off the cover today to vacuum the filter (I just completely forgot I needed to do that!). Oh, it was packed full of dust and cat hair. But cleaned so easily with the vacuum! I'm ordering some replacement filters, but haven't gotten a reminder yet that it needs to be replaced, so I'm guessing I'll get the full 6 months out of it as the manufacturer says, which is impressive to me. We have 4 cats, cook almost every day, and my husband smokes in the garage. We have a pretty open floor plan, with the kitchen by the laundry room which is next to the garage. I have the air purifier at the edge of the kitchen near the living room. So it's within 20 feet of the garage door and litter box in the laundry room and picks up all the kitchen odors. After cleaning the filter, it does respond much faster to the cigarette smoke. I was originally going to give it 4 stars but thought I'd better check the filter before submitting. It's now earned 5 stars in my opinion. Just wish I'd bought another one for the bedroom! It is a little pricey, so I bought a cheaper, smaller model for in there. It's not nearly as good.

air feels fresher
This air purifier helps with improving the air quality. If you push the power button and leave it, it will be set on automatic mode and the fan intensity will kick up or down on its own. The automatic sensor for the air quality is great: blue is good, green is okay, red is worse. It would be nice to dim the LED lights or turn them off completely. It's a little on the loud side but it gives me piece of mind that it's working. I stuck it in a closet that has an odor and the smell went away while it was in there. The real test is when I farted near it and the LED changed from blue to green. Whenever I light incense or palo santo, it senses it and kicks up. When the smoke in the air was really bad here in California, it was mostly in the green and red and the fan was on high. I like that it comes with a remote so that when I'm in a Zoom meeting and it gets loud from the kicking up automatically, I can lower the fan intensity from my desk. It does a good job circulating air too. I have looked at the filter inside the purifier and having the visual of all the dust and particles it filters is gross and reassuring. I recommend this filter.
