    5/5 Buy buy buy!
So many good things to say. RTX 2070 and "budget" don't usually belong in the same product description. Somehow, MSI made it work with a super powerful gaming machine that kicks ass and. Well, for the budget-oriented high-end gamer, this is all you ever need. ————————— PERFORMANCE - 5,555/5 This is not something you need worry about on this laptop. This machine pulls 100+ the most AAA demanding titles at the highest settings, thanks to the full RTX 2070 mobile GPU (not Max-Q). My Frames in some FPS games (high/ultra settings, 1080p): Warzone: 90s-120s Planetside 2: 140s (VR training), 60s-80s (huge fights) Apex Legends: 90-100s The main performance "bottleneck" is the i7-10750h CPU, which is obvious when comparing with the stupidly powerful RTX 2070 graphics card. Also makes sense since the CPU hits the 90+ C while GPU hits 70s. That being said, hitting the above framerates in games, I can’t complain. ————————— THERMALS - 4/5 Totally competent. Runs a little hotter than I hoped for, but won't thermal throttle out of the box (default “User” mode in Dragon center with high CPU, auto fans). Undervolting with XTU can be unlocked in the Advanced BIOS settings. I played around with some sliders, but I couldn’t get better performance than stock settings. YMMV. The fans are LOUD. When gaming, air blasts out the back and right side. Hot air blasts out the left side. Don’t leave any accessories to bake next to this laptop, and you’ll be fine. Thankfully, the keyboard stays cool and comfortable during long gaming sessions. I give 4/5 because it’s not something you’d really notice. ————————— SCREEN - 5/5 Tech reviewers give the response time as 5 ms, close to the advertised 3 ms. Without a way to test for it myself, I’d trust this figure. 144 hz refresh rate is buttery smooth to the eye and more than good enough for FPS and action games. The screen is has deep contrast, though it seems biased towards darker colors. Full brightness may hurt your eyes though. ————————— BUILD QUALITY/AESTHETICS - 4/5 Impressive for the budget. Very thin screen bezels. Almost all metal except for the bottom panel. (But the screen does flex a little bit). It’s not the thinnest or prettiest laptop, but you won’t have to worry about people judging you outside. You won’t be bringing this outside! (with a weight of 9 pounds!). All in all, this laptop might be most portable desktop I ever had. ————————— KEYBOARD - 5/5 Unfortunately, compromises had to be made to fit a keyboard and numpad under a 15.6” size screen. The keyboard is slightly smaller than full size (but it’s easy to get used to). The keys feel pleasantly precise and have a decent amount of travel. All complaints are automatically nullified when you turn on the laptop. YIPPE KIYAY at how sick the RGB looks, thanks to Steelseries support. ————————— TOUCHPAD - 4/5 It’s meh. It is a Windows Precision trackpad, so it tracks smoothly. The surface is plastic, so it’s not smooth as glass, and skin oils/sweat quickly collects on the surface. The trackpad goes back to the old days when we had physical click and right click buttons. I would have preferred if the. But then again, you’re probably using a mouse anyways, so not a con. ————————— I/O - 5/5 A lot better than I expected (although I’m new to gaming laptops in general). HDMI, separate audio in/audio out, USB-C, 3x USB 3, SD card slot, ethernet, mini Displayport. Charging port on the right side. I would have preferred the ports to be on the back (would help clean up the cables a but), but it’s not something you notice while gaming. ————————— SPEAKERS - use headphones They’re pretty bad, but who cares?
    Thank you for your feedback

I've recently been on the market for a gaming laptop capable of handling Cyberpunk 2077 up to my standards but at a good price: and this computer fits the bill.
In the meantime the full RTX 2070 and i7 have handled everything I've thrown at it with no stutters (both programs and games) with great performance, all on max settings.
The Steelseries RGB keyboard has mutiple preset / default options however you can also create new ones and customize them. Looks great, definitely one of my favorite features, even if it doesn't directly affect performance.
As others have said, fans can get very loud when playing demanding games (especially when using the Cooler Boost option), but with headphones you'll be fine. However, this is expected for gaming laptops. I haven't tested how hot it gets, but overall you might think about getting a cooling pad.
It does come with 512GB NVMe SSD, so if you keep lots of files on your computer or play games that occupy lots of storage, you'll probably need to increase space, for which fortunately there is.
The build is sturdy, but the materials are a fingerprint magnet. Without a doubt you'll be cleaning this computer constantly.
Battery life isn't exactly great, especially when gaming without a cord. But this isn't really a problem if you just take the cable with you.
Overall, I'm very happy with this computer and has run with zero problems, both when playing demanding games and running multiple programs. I'd suggest it to anyone looking for both great performance and good price.

I'm a laptop gamer, have been for over a decade. I've had Dell's rockin' XPS, I've had their less-than-satisfactory Alienware and when I needed a new laptop 6 years ago, I went with an MSI, due to the power at an incredible price. Think about that-- 6 years with the same gaming laptop. Ever since then, I've talked my daughter, her boyfriend, 3 of her friends, and two of my nephews into buying MSI and they all love them. I will never buy anything else. Now, to this review-- After 6 years, I needed a new gaming laptop so I bought this. Raytracing? Wasn't any hesitation. And it runs flawlessly! I'm running all of my games in Ultra mode and still getting a steady 60+ FPS. Here's a response to what other people have written:

      - Laptop is loud-- of course it's loud. That's because of the power inside. You're cramming the 3rd fastest video card on the market into an itty bitty chassis. So if you're complaining that it's loud, you simply don't get it. It's normal.
      - Low battery life-- It feels like the words "desktop replacement" have vanished from the PC gamer vernacular. It's not meant to run on battery. The battery is for if you suddenly have to move it, you can unplug it , move it, and plug it back in. Power goes out? Use the battery to sae your work, then turn it off. That's the whole idea.
      - The screen and video card are nothing short of amazing. 144mhz? Best screen I've ever used. No jaggies, no pauses, no split-screens. And the RTX card? MSI is one of the few companies that allows you to use the reference drivers directly from NVIDIA, and it's this reason that their laptops withstand the test of time. You get every update from nVidia, roughly one a week. New game comes out, nVidia writes it into their driver, you get it delivered to you. This is the main feature of the system. In contrast, Dell forces you to use their driver and rarely update it. Basically, the Alienware I bought was close to useless in less than a year.
      - Loud- yeah well, RTX card, lotsa fans running = loud.
      - heavy-- You're insane. This is one of the lightest gaming pc's on the market.
      - Sound-- okay, this one is legitimate. The sound is terrible, very tinny. But once I put my headset on, it sounds fantastic. So just figure on using headphones, which you're probably doing anyway to take advantage of spacial sound.
      - Space - yep, you're gonna need to get a second drive. So, people complain that the 512 gig ssd isn't enough to install a lot of games and they're right, but it's because they don't get it. The SSD should really be just for your OS and any read-write heavy apps. You'll need a second drive, probably a sshd or hdd and MSI, realizing this, has given us a second bay to install one. So quit whining.

As you can see, I love my MSI and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Get one NOW.

      Pros:
-Great specs with enough power to throw most any 1080p/60fps gaming at max specs
-Very nice screen, 144hz and pretty good brightness\color
-Fans don't seem to run too loud (more below)
      -Nice form factor and aesthetics

      Cons:
      -Built in speakers are useless
-A little more work to add a 2nd SSD than previously laptops I've owned

Review: In short, I really love this laptop. I bought this mainly for 1080p\60fps gaming and video editing. My previous laptop handled video editing rather well too, but with the power of this I can edit and render 4k video at very good speeds, more than I need honestly. Since most of my side work with this requires fast turn arounds and very high video quality this works out very well.

In terms of gaming, both gaming on my TV (at 1080p) and my ultrawide monitor (2560 x 1080) works flawlessly. In fact, for only a few modern titles with insane graphics did the fans kick on high and obvious signs of hard work happened. I have no doubt this can push pretty acceptable 4K gaming as well, but at the moment I don't have much interest in the higher resolutions. In the future that might change. Gaming on the built in screen is awesome, I get 144hz on almost all the games I play and it looks very, very good. I tried some RTX games and while some like Minecraft shows how the tech could change older games, in newer games I only noticed if I was trying to find differences. Again as the tech progresses I'm sure that will change too.

I really like the look of this laptop and it feels "nice" in my hands. I know a few reviewers didn't like the USB ports so close to the front but personally I like having a few as close as possible when couch gaming. Another thing pointed out by some is the loudness of the fans, however I've had the opposite experience with mine. The fan barely needs to run, and when it does it doesn't even come close to as loud as my other gaming laptops have been.

Finally the cons. The speakers are garbage. The sound is very low, and what little sound you can hear is canned and missing all the bass. Get some external speakers (there are even some you can clip on a laptop, I have those coming and will review those later) or headphones\headset. Adding a second SSD was a bit more work than I expected, lots of screws and needing more force than I felt comfortable to use to open. However, I am spoiled as the last 2 gaming laptops I've had used a single screwed bay to add extra storage and RAM.

Final Thoughts: If you want a great laptop and don't want to deal with waiting for the whole RTX 30* issues happening to subside this is a nice choice for sure. I imagine this will hold me over for at least 3-4 years which is exactly what I as wanting.

So far, after a few weeks, this thing is a beast for gaming. I came from a 2012 MBP. First thing I noticed is the plastic casing, somewhat concerning but nevertheless it feels strong. The performance on this laptop is excellent for the money dished out. 2070 and new intel work great. 144hz screen is awesome for gaming.

INCREDIBLE PRICE, I don’t know if you have seen the market for laptops right now but if you have $2500 AUD for a 2070 gaming laptop is cheep as, normally it’s like $3500 AUD. this is my best order ever. It was the best deal. The device is capable to run many games on ultra setting wihtout issue. The keyboard is good . The secreen is amazing.

I didn't like the audio and USB port is on the mouse side.

Thanks amazon... really good deal for my budget
