I barely assembled the fan, looks amazing! I am very happy with the build quality and I love how big the unit is. I plan to use it in my college apartment on those very hot summer nights. The price was great as well, but my main complaint was the quality of the purchase. Although the unit was very well produced and it looks like it will perform well, I noticed some very light scratches on the touch screen. Even at a more premium price for an extra fan that seemed a bit odd, but I did not care until I noticed the bottom of the unit. I noticed a lot of loose hairs on the bottom of the fan, I wiped some of it off before I took the picture, but it is still somewhat noticeable on the unit. It was a lot worse, but for over $100 I think I would expect to get a unit that is very well sealed. I do not want to assume it was a returned item, but it definitely does not look brand new. I would never see this out of a more well known brand at a very similar price point. Overall, I will update my review once I use it more to represent the true build quality and the promised description so that new buyers can understand what they are getting when they purchase this item.

    So, to be honest if I could give this a lower review than a one-star I would. I bought this for me and my fiance to use during the summer months in our small one-bedroom apartment. After receiving it oh, and getting it opened I was quite excited to get it going and test it out. After testing it out, I was so disappointed because it is no more than just a regular fan. I originally thought that may be it was blowing out a little bit colder air then a regular fan. But that was not the case. The ice packs it provides did basically nothing. I even added very cold water to the basin, and there was barely a difference in temperature. Also, the Basin itself runs out of water after only a couple hours of running. I would by no means, recommend to anyone that they get this fan. It does not work as intended, and is actually worse than a big stand-up fan. Do not buy this

    I love this product. It keeps my room and bed nice and chilly so I can sleep. I run super hot and my husband doesn’t, and he doesn’t want the AC under 75 at any time so I had to buy something for my side of the bed because I can’t sleep unless I’m freezing and I sweat A LOT lol. Well this fan is awesome. It comes with 2 little cooling packs that you throw in the reservoir with some water to give the effect of a swamp cooler. I don’t always have time to refreeze the ice packs so I just pull the ice from the ice maker and put it in with water and it works great. If you live in an area where you get pretty rough summers this is a lifesaver. I would recommend grabbing one before it gets too hot and they all disappear

    Temperatures here range from sub-zero to over 100. This cooler is just right, very easy to use AND (something which is important to me) very easy to store on the off months. Just throw an old pillow case over it to keep it dust free and put it in any small corner until needed again. I like the small footprint.

    I tend to shrug off negative reviews on swamp coolers because most people in the U.S. don't live where they can be expected to work. However, I live in Wyoming, where an evaporative cooler keeps us comfortable most of the summer. Only on the rare days where our humidity gets above 25% does it fail us, and when the humidity gets below 10% it can freeze us out even when the outside temp is in the 90s. I bought this as an extra cooling unit for our motorhome during a planned trip to another hot dry area, Arizona. So it seemed like fate when our home swamp cooler developed water supply problems - I figured this tower could keep at least part of the house cool until we got the problem fixed. Except for one slight problem - the fan part works fine but it doesn't actually cool the air blowing out. I suspect it is because the designers of these fans don't send enough water dripping through the filters in an effort to not aggravate customers by making them refill the water reservoir frequently. It takes a LOT of water to really cool the air, but without it, the whole effort is pointless! In the same room as this non-cooling cooler, I had a little personal cooler (also bought for the upcoming trip) that sent out wonderfully cool air but I had to refill the reservoir about once an hour. It's a nuisance but totally worth it to stay cool. So this one is being returned and I'll buy a couple more of the smaller coolers that actually work.

    Fan is very weak—cools 2-3 feet immediately in front but NOT 700 sq ft. Ice packets and even ice cubes do no good—not enough room for enough icy water. You’d save $80-$100 to buy a high power fan like Vornado and put a pan off ice in front or behind it. I mistakenly let return period go by or I would have returned it. Now I have a $140 white plastic tower. But the remote works pretty well.
